Although a natural process, the experience of breastfeeding is unique for each mother and baby. As you both learn, challenges may arise. Receiving individualized care when needed will allow you to overcome these challenges and enhance this special time. 



Appointments are available within 24-48 hours.

Initial postpartum visit

  • Comprehensive assessment of you and your baby, including health history, exam and
    observation of breastfeeding with before and after feeding weights if indicated

  • Identification of problems and any concerns you have

  • Personalized counseling and education

  • 48 hour care plan

  • Phone and/or email follow-up

  • Report sent to healthcare providers

  • An invoice will be provided to submit to insurance for reimbursement 

Prenatal visit

  • Learn what to expect in the first few days after birth and what you can do to encourage a successful start

  • Individualized education to address your concerns and questions and how your health history may impact lactation

  • You are encouraged to include spouses, grandparents and anyone who will be supporting you during the newborn period

  • An invoice will be provided to submit to insurance for reimbursement 

Follow-up visit

  • In-depth reassessment of breastfeeding problems with focused counseling and education for current clients

  • New 48 hour care plan

  • Phone and/or email follow-up

  • Report to healthcare providers, if needed

  • An invoice will be provided to submit to insurance for reimbursement 

The services listed above are reimbursed by most Florida health insurance companies and are FSA and HSA eligible. 



As a nurse practitioner and certified lactation consultant, Sherry has been caring for breastfeeding families for over 20 years. She holds a masters degree in Maternal and Child Health from Boston College and is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Her passion is giving mothers the knowledge, assistance and support they need to be confident in each new breastfeeding relationship. Sherry provides quality, compassionate, evidenced based care to assist mothers in meeting their own desired success.


Reasons to consider the help of a lactation consultant 


  • Painful breastfeeding

  • Concern about low milk supply

  • Concerns that your milk has not come in

  • Separation of mother and baby
